    • Took the Oath of Allegiance in Tinicum Twp, Bucks Co, PA on 9/16/1777, along with his brothers, John and Henry. Middleswart Family History - Washington Co. ,OH As prepared and read by a 75 year old man, Austin A. Middleswart, at Thanksgiving Reunion held at the A.T.Dye home in 1914. (Austin was the son of Jacob and Eleanor Fulton Middleswart and grand son of Henry and Sarah Clark Middleswart.) In the PA census of 1790 which gave only the heads of families, Jacob, Henry, and Abe Middleswart were given. There was quite a number of men who were not married and some who were married were omitted. Moses Middleswart, who came to Allegheny Co. just at the close of the Revolution was omitted. He was a man of sterling business methods. He helped establish the first bank west of the Allegheny Mts. The Bank of Pittsburg.(Moses was not married until 1793, and it is my beleif that he was listed in his father, Abraham Middleswart`s household as the second adult male in 1790.)
